Define what the identity must communicate
Joe Design Group offers brand identity design, including logos, typography, color systems, and guidelines. The brief should explain the customer, the offer, and the settings where the identity will appear. A service van, appointment website, package label, and browser tab make different demands on the same mark.
Keep the real business name consistent. Do not add keywords to the name solely to pursue search visibility. On the website, align the visible name, homepage title, Open Graph site name, and supported WebSite schema.
Plan the usable variants
Request a primary mark, a compact version, and a small-size treatment where appropriate. Check light and dark backgrounds, one-color production, and legibility without effects. A detailed illustration can look good at poster size while becoming unreadable as a favicon.
Also plan social sharing artwork and image captions. A concept mockup should be identified as an illustration; it should not imply that the design was produced for a real customer without evidence.
Typography and color need operating rules
Set a readable heading and body pairing, accessible text colors, spacing, and interaction states. Explain how links, buttons, errors, and focus indicators fit the palette. A color sheet without those decisions leaves the site’s most important controls to browser defaults.
Use consistent arrows and descriptive link text when a visitor will move to another page. A detached launch-style icon can imply an external destination when the link is internal. A native arrow should support the words, not replace them.
A useful handoff
- Approved name and mark variants with export formats.
- Color values and text/background combinations.
- Font choices, license responsibility, and fallbacks.
- Web and print usage examples that match the real business.
- Instructions for small marks, social images, and new content.
- A file inventory and clear ownership terms in the written scope.
Align identity with the website’s content
Brand work should make the offer easier to recognize. Pair imagery with actual service information and a clear inquiry route. Do not replace process details and useful answers with a sequence of slogans.
For a redesign, preserve customer-facing facts and valuable URLs while changing presentation. The website redesign service covers that release work.
Search branding is a supported signal
Google describes how it selects site names in its site name documentation. A consistent homepage name and WebSite entity help describe the brand; they do not force Google to display a specific label.
Read the brand identity preparation guide for a concrete briefing checklist. Send the current identity, where you use it, and the problems you need the new system to solve. Avoid promising a revenue increase from a logo change without measured evidence.
Bring your website and your next goal
